This 3,400 sq. ft. house is unique both from the standpoint of process and product. The owner was intimately involved in the design, and she selected our firm on the basis of our willingness to work closely with her in its formulation to meet her very unique and specific needs. In designing the house we incorporated many of the principles set forth in the book Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander. At its core, it is a very contemporary house and yet utilizes more traditional materials such as the slate roof, sandstone and copper gutters.
